Our Families

We feel like it is so important to be with family!  We travel as much as possible to go to all our family events.  There is something to be said about watching your children interact, and love, the people we grew up interacting with and loving.  Nothing brings us greater joy than watching Ellie play with our families and make memories!  It is simply the best, and we go to great lengths to make sure it happens often.  One thing is for certain: no matter which family we are with, it is always BIG and it's always FUN!!

DAVE'S FAMILY
Dave was born and raised in Seattle his entire life.  He is the youngest of 8 children.  His parents still live in Seattle, with a couple siblings as well, but most of his siblings are in the Utah area.  They are all amazing people and they love to get together often, but especially for family reunions in the summer.  They are the type of family that drops everything to go each other's family events, like weddings, and so on.  They have taught me a lot and I feel so blessed to have married into such a wonderful family!  Dave has a sister who adopted her children, and she has really given us a lot of insight and support.

TARAH'S FAMILY
I am from Idaho and still have family living there.  I grew up in two families.  My parents divorced when I was 3 and both remarried when I was 4.  It is all I have ever known and I love it!  I grew up spending school years with my dad in Idaho (there are 5 kids in that family, including me)  and summers with my mom in Guam/Houston, Texas (there are four kids in that family, including me).  My brother David and I transferred back and forth together between both families.  It can be confusing sometimes to explain, but I wouldn't have it any other way!  To me, family isn't just something you are just born into.  It is something you make.  It's people you love and work hard to keep together.  Despite it all, we have come out strong and my family is filled with some pretty fantastic people!  They always make me laugh and offer such great support.  They are just the best!  I also have a brother that has adopted (and is still adopting) and we have been able to learn a lot from each other, and help one another out.  My stepdad is African American, and my sisters are half, so we know what it is like to have an interracial family, as well.  My family is so amazing!
